The Jubaland administration lead by Ahmed Madoobe released Senator Ilyas Beddel Gabose from prison.
Senator Ilyas was political prisoner nearly 18 months as he was arrested late 2024.
Hes was Jubaland presidential candidate prior to his arrest.
This afternoon Ahmed Madoobe met with him and allowed him to leave.
His release cames as EU pressured Ahmed Madoobe to release the Senator.
EU told Madobe to release political prisoners to engage dialogue and participate reconciliation efforts.
