Jubbaland Intelligence Agency and AU Peacekeeping Forces, along with the Jubbaland ground troops, have seized the Al-Shabaab militants’ mine factory that they had in the Badda-madaw area between Ras Kamboni and Badhadhe, particularly around lake Hola-wajer and its surroundings.
The Jubbaland forces seized, in one location alone, 90 boxes of mines and the workshop where these mines were being made, Many other mines were also captured.
In the town of Ras Kamboni, they found the bodies of about 50 Al-Shabaab militants who were killed in clashes.
These mines were planned to be used against the people.
It is worth mentioning that the Somali people living in southern Jubbaland and northeastern Kenya have suffered many hardships from these mines.
