The Somali National Army’s 8th Brigade, 60th Battalion, led by Brigadier General Ali Mohamed Aden carried out a strategic operation in areas of Bay region near the vital road connecting Buur Hakaba and Baidoa City.
The operation targeted cleansing the militants, and the forces thwarted traps set by the militants for civilians by removing landmines that would have endangered lives and the movement of vehicles.
Brigadier General Ali Adaw stated that the forces successfully destroyed the locations where the militants used to hide, as part of efforts to ensure the security of the region and the safety of the people.
