The Somali government has, for the first time in a while, established a new unit within the special forces known as Haramcad, which is joining the Somali police forces.
The training was provided by officers from the Turkish special police forces called Ozel Harekat, covering counter-terrorism, execution of special operations, and techniques used by the Somali police special forces.
The Haramcad forces regularly secure complex attacks by militants at Hotels or Government Buildings.
They have also unit of well trained anti riot teams and Stabilization units.
