The Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, reaffirmed that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia are inviolable, in accordance with the Constitution, the United Nations Charter, and the Constitutive Act of the African Union.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Ministry, he reiterated the Government’s firm position, the resolutions adopted by both the House of the People and the Upper House, as well as the President’s address earlier today to a joint session of Parliament, all of which reject Israel’s aggressive move to recognize part of Somalia’s northern regions, describing it as a blatant attack on the nation’s unity and sovereignty.

The Minister stressed that Somalia, both on land and at sea, will not be fragmented or partitioned, and any attempt to undermine its sovereignty will be firmly defended with the full backing of its people, friends, allied countries, and international and regional organizations.

The Ministry also notifies states and international and regional organizations that Israel’s action poses a serious threat to regional peace, the security of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, and the stability of the Middle East.
