Former Hirshabelle state of Somalia leader Mohamed Abdi Waare condemns failed assassination attempt against current leader of Hirshabelle Ali Gudlawe Hussein.
While returning from Mogadishu terrorists planted landmine the Road between the Airport and Jowhar City.
“I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the failed assassination attempt against my Vice President and current President of HirShabelle State of Somalia, HE Gudlawe Hussein, in Jowhar today.
I commend the exemplary effort of security forces, both Somali forces and our AUSOM Burundian brothers in Sector 5 of the AUSOM operation, who quickly brought the situation under control, and immediately evacuated the wounded.
Al Shabaab continues to be an existential threat in Somalia, and we need to bring all efforts to eliminate this threat, by strengthening internal cohesion and avoid political distractions that divert attention and resources from the fight against Al Shabaab.
May Allah Heal the wounded. We are thankful that there were no casualties in the attempt.” Said mr Waare.
