Four Somali nationals have been remanded in custody by the Victoria Falls Magistrates’ Court after allegedly entering Zimbabwe through an illegal port of entry.

The accused are Abdullahi Abdibashir Hussein (25), Mohamed Omar Hirabe (24), Mohamud Omar Hassan (33) and Muhamed Sid Alimustaf (19), who are facing charges of contravening Section 11 of the Immigration Act.

They were remanded in custody to January 23.

The court heard that on January 14, the suspects later presented themselves at the Pandamatenga Border Post on the Zimbabwe-Botswana border.

Three of the accused reportedly produced passports that were not stamped, while the fourth failed to produce any travel documents.

Further investigations by the police allegedly revealed that the four had entered the country unlawfully, leading to their arrest and subsequent appearance in court.
