The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation expresses its sincere appreciation to H.E. Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and the Council of Ministers for approving a number of important international bills submitted by H.E. Abdisalam Ali (MOFA&IC)
The approved bills include:
• The Agreement between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic Passports. This agreement facilitates diplomatic travel and strengthens bilateral engagement between the two countries.
• The Memorandum of Understanding on the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM). This reinforces Somalia’s commitment to good governance, accountability, and peer-based cooperation among African states.
• The Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement (CSA) between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This strengthens Somalia’s compliance with international standards governing the peaceful use of nuclear technology.
• The Additional Protocol (AP) to the Safeguards Agreement between Somalia and the IAEA. This enhances transparency and cooperation within the global nuclear non-proliferation framework.
These approvals mark an important step in advancing Somalia’s diplomatic priorities, strengthening international partnerships, and reinforcing the country’s constructive role within the global community.
