Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency has deployed elite special forces to the southwestern city of Baidoa ahead of an expected visit by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Thursday, according to sources familiar with the trip.
The deployment comes as part of heightened security measures in preparation for the president’s arrival, the sources said.
Lower house Speaker Aden Mohamed Nor Madobe who is in Baidoa city calls security agencies vigilance as terrorists may plan instability.
He also calls people to slow night movements to get a chan by security agencies to thwart terrorists plans.
