The United Nations reopened its headquarters in Khartoum on Thursday and resumed operations of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), marking a gradual return of activities after nearly three years of suspension caused by conflict in Sudan.
The reopening ceremony was attended by Foreign Minister Mohi El-Din Salem, UNDP Associate Administrator Xu Haoliang, UN officials, and representatives from Khartoum State.
At the beginning of this year the Sudanese government reopened Khartoum Airport after destruction by the RSF getting support from UAE.
The government also started functioning its offices in Khartoum after long time due to war.
