Somalia’s two houses Parliament mandate expired today as of 14 April 2026.
Four years ago was sworn in as Somalia’s 11th Parliament, but today as their time aborted now signs of elections.
Recently Parliament approved new constitution which gave them one year extension although opposition parties rejected.
Former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo had warned that expiration of their mandate the country could face political turmoil.
Curent President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud or Speakers of the two houses didn’t speak the new path to the country’s future.
Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s mandate also remain 30 days from tomorrow and there is no election campaign or even possibility of indirect elections.
