At least six people were killed and several others injured after a passenger vehicle they were travelling in came under attack with armed men who sprayed bullets to the bus near Arabia Town witnesses and local residents said.
The incident occurred in Beracawayoon, a rural area located a few kilometers from Arabia, where the victims were reportedly heading to attend a family Quran recitation ceremony.
According to preliminary reports, the vehicle had been privately hired to transport relatives and guests to the religious gathering when it was struck by armed gangasters, causing multiple casualties and panic among survivors.
Witnesses said the blast ripped through the vehicle, killing several passengers instantly and leaving others with serious injuries.
