Somalia border will not reopen, Ruto says

Kenyan President William Ruto has said that Kenya Somalia border previously planed to reopen mid last April will not reopen due to insecurity.

Ruto previously said that since the border security improving,  the plan was to allow movement between the two countries.

But recently terrorists attacks and ethnic tensions increased which Kenya government decided to reconsider its previous decision.

At time of Federal institutions term ends and the relationship between Federal Government and federal member states isn’t genuine, Kenya decided to postpone the reopening of the border said Ruto while giving an interview with France 24 in Nairobi.

On Saturday six civilians killed after clan militants ambushed minibus from Mandera to Arabia.

Mandera officials called the Kenya Government to remove Jubbaland forces from Mandera and its surrounding areas, otherwise they will step in if the Government fail to remove Jubbaland forces within 72 hours.
