Somalia’s National Army alongside International partners successfully recaptured towns from al shabab terrorists at the two sides of Shabelle River.
Somali Commando Forces, following intense operations over the past several hours, have captured more than seven strategic positions and large agricultural areas that had been under terrorist control for nearly 20 years.
While the capture itself is significant, the real test will be how effectively these gains are held. In recent months, there have been no major setbacks or withdrawals, largely due to the drone support provided by Türkiye, which has significantly reduced the threat posed by the militant group.
