Türkiye and Somalia have expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation on transport and infrastructure following talks between Somalia’s Minister of Public Works, Reconstruction and Housing, Ayub Ismail Yusuf, and Türkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, in Ankara.
“In our meeting, we held discussions on potential joint initiatives that can be implemented in the fields of transportation and infrastructure,” Minister Uraloğlu said in a statement after the talks on Thursday.
“We are determined to further advance the strong fraternal ties between Türkiye and Somalia through mutual experience sharing and joint projects,” he added.
His Somali counterpart, Ayub Ismail Yusuf, described the meeting as “fruitful”, saying they also “discussed how to further strengthen our two sides’ partnership in sustainable development and private sector-led infrastructure projects in Somalia.
