Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar met with Somali Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Dahir Shire Mohamed DahaShire during the Istanbul Natural Resources Summit.
The two sides discussed the ongoing offshore drilling operations carried out by the Turkish vessel Çağrı Bey off the coast of Somalia, reviewing the current progress and future implementation plans.
Bayraktar emphasized the importance of deepening Türkiye-Somalia cooperation in the energy sector through new investment opportunities and joint projects, including mining.
Somalia and Türkiye already signed dozens of agreements from developments, maritime security, oil and gas exploration to defence pacts.
