Five politicians of Somali origin have been elected to Sweden’s Parliament, known as the Riksdag.
Those elected in the 13 September 2026 elections are Leila Ali Elmi, Mursal Isa.
Mohamed Abdukani of the Green Party, and Ilyas Hassan and Mohamed Abdukadir Ali of the Left Party.
They will serve in Sweden’s 2026–2030 parliament.
Somalis in the diaspora show performance when it cames to the Politics of the Countries they immigrated to.
But Somali Politicians in the Country failed to resolve long standing political stalemate.
