Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has decided to reduce Algeria’s diplomatic representation in the United Arab Emirates to a very minimal level.
Algeria’s ambassador stationed in Abu Dhabi, Amor Fritah, has been recalled, and no other diplomat has been appointed to replace him.
Starting from the UAE’s diplomatic relations established with Israel, to policies seen as fueling conflicts in the Sahel region, as well as matters related to Sudan and a recent visit made to Algeria where Somalia’s president envoy delivered a letter from the Somali president .
these issues are seen as having led to Algeria’s decision to downgrade its diplomatic ties with the United Arab Emirates, as reported by the Africa Intelligence newspaper.
