​Somalia’s defence Minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi said the National Army confronted what he described as an attempted Coup against Federal Government of Somalia.
“The attempted coup against the Somali state, launched by the RSF-Somali branch, has been fiercely confronted by the National Armed Forces and is now on the brink of complete failure and defeat.
​Just as Kharijite groups hide behind the guise of religion, this attempt to overthrow our government was concealed under other pretexts, such as “protests or tribalism.”
​the Minister called those fighting for the opposition to surrender themselves to the National Army forces.
Fiqi said the opposition are the Sudanese RSF branch in Somalia, supported by United Arab Emirates.
