The Minister of Defense of the Somali Federal Government (XFS), Mr. Ahmed Macallin Fiqi, accompanied by the Minister of Interior Affairs, Mr. Ali Yusuf Ali, and the Commander of the Somali National Armed Forces (CXDS), Brigadier General Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud, arrived today in the Sabiid and Caanoole areas of the Lower Shabelle region to resettle families displaced from their homes by the Khawarij Al-Shabaab group and to bless these areas.
The purpose of the officials’ visit was to fulfill the government’s pledge to stabilize areas liberated from the Khawarij, while accelerating community rehabilitation efforts.
Local residents were handed over new homes built after the liberation of these areas.
Additionally, cash and humanitarian aid services were provided to vulnerable families living in those areas, to strengthen community livelihoods and expedite the reconstruction of the liberated regions.
