Somali government forces stationed in the Middle Shabelle region killed six Al-Shabaab terrorists after carrying out an operation in the Hilowle Gaab area, which falls under the Ruun Nirgood district in Middle Shabelle.
​The troops attacked a checkpoint where the Shabaab terrorists were extorting illegal money from travelers.
​Additionally, the forces thwarted a retaliatory attack that the terrorists attempted to carry out in the Sheekhow Gaab area, resulting deaths and injuries casualties.
​The terrorist group fled to the Ceelbacad area, also in the Middle Shabelle region.
