Omar Abdulkadir Artan Somali referee selected as best CAF male referee .
He was crowned the CAF Best Male Referee for 2025 at the CAF Awards ceremony held in Rabat, Morocco.
Omar Artan made history as the first Somali referee selected for a FIFA World Cup tournament and has officiated major matches including the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and a continental final in Cairo.
He has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to African football refereeing in 2025.
Somali leaders including president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud congratulated to Omar’s reward.
Most Somali Football lovers also welcomed Omar’s success as he is eyeing FIFA World Cup 2026.
