Somalia’s Ministry of Defence welcomed over 150 militants defected from former Southwest State leader Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagaren to the Federal government of Somalia in Bay region.
The former chairman of the Awdiinle area in the Bay Region, Ibrahim Kalay, accompanied by 150 militiamen, surrendered to the National Army Forces of the Federal Government of Somalia operating in the Southwest State of Somalia.
“This came after they explicitly defected from the militias misled by Abdiasis Laftagareen, who have been carrying out insecurity acts in those areas over the past few days.” Ministry said.
Also former Bay Police Chief surrounded to the Federal government Forces in Bay region.
Former leader Abdiaziz Laftagaren is trying to recaptur Baidoa from the current Southwest State administration.
