The Federal Government of Somalia is planning to reactivate the 26th National Army Command in newly formed Northeastern state.
unit of the Somali National Army has arrived in Las Anod, the administrative capital of the newly established Waqoori Bari State, ahead of an expected visit by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre.
During the visit, the Prime Minister is expected to officially inaugurate the Somali National Army’s Northern Regions Command Headquarters, a step aimed at strengthening the federal government’s military command structure and security presence across northern Somalia.
Before Siyad Barre regime collapse in 1991 the 26th Command post was in Hargeisa.
The Federal Government also reactivated the 54th SNA Command in Garowe in June, where all unities of the Battalion completed.
