Tensions between Sudan and Ethiopia have escalated after reports emerged that RSF training camps were located inside Ethiopian territory, followed by statements from the Sudanese army claiming that drones launched from Ethiopia had targeted Sudanese territory.
Today, Sudan’s air defense systems reportedly shot down an Ethiopian armed drone. This development suggests that tensions between the two countries could intensify further.
In the current context, Türkiye appears to be one of the key actors capable of helping to de-escalate the situation, while the Horn of Africa is already in no position to handle a new wave of conflict.
