A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a vehicle hit multiple pedestrians on a busy London road before driving away, police have said.
Five people were injured with three taken to hospital after the incident on Ealing Broadway, Ealing, west London, at about 2.30pm on Saturday.
Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) London conducted initial inquiries, but the incident is not being treated as terrorism.
The Somalia-born British driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and attempted murder, the Metropolitan Police said.
He did not wait at the scene but was stopped in nearby Grange Park ‘a short time later’, the force added.
None of the injuries were life-threatening or life-changing, and the two who were not taken to hospital received treatment at the scene.
The force said: ‘Due to the nature of the incident, local officers were in contact with officers from Counter Terrorism Policing London as they conducted their initial enquiries.
