The Minister of Ports and Sea Transport of the FGS, Mr. Abdulqadir Mohamed Noor, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Director of Somali Ship Register Limited, Mr. Çağdaş Oykun Saltaș.
This agreement establishes the Somali ships registry, allowing vessels to take the Somali flag a significant step showing commitment to developing and modernizing maritime affairs.
The Minister noted that this deal will create new investment opportunities, jobs, and boost the Somali flag’s reputation, benefiting from partners’ expertise.
Finally, the Minister stated this is another strategic step by the National Government to strengthen Somalia’s administration and reputation, joining competitive nations in global shipping.
