Governors Meet in Mwingi to Ease Tensions
Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe and Garissa Governor Nathif Adam will hold a joint peace meeting at Nguni Market in Mwingi Central, following recent violence and inter-ethnic clashes between Kamba and Somali communities.
The meeting aims to address attacks in Tseikuru and Nguni, restore calm, and resolve disruptions along the Mwingi–Garissa route.
County officials and security teams from both counties will also attend.
More than 15 people killed and businesses looted while Nairobi-Garissa road closed over unrest.
Kenya’s Government deployed deferent police departments to escort travelling people and secure areas of hostilities.
