Gen Mohamed Hassan Hamud has been appointed as the new Custodian Corps Chief after the cabinet fired Gen Mahad Abdirahman Aden.
Mr Mahad aka Taliye Shub, was appointed 6th April 2023 at that time he was member of Somalia’s house of people from South West state.
Mr Hamud previously served as Somalia’s Police Chief, NISA Commander and an MP.
Today’s appointment comes as tensions between Federal Government and South West state is surging.
Gen. Mahad is father-in-law of South West State leader who is currently facing Federal government.
