Somalia’s National Army has been reactivated the 54th Army division in Garowe Puntland state of Somalia.
 This is a historic achievement that demonstrates that statehood, national sovereignty, and the rebuilding of security institutions remain alive.
​This division, which was one of the key units of the National Army before the 1990 collapse, symbolizes the recovery of national army strength and the efforts to reinforce a unified national army.
​After 36 years, restoring the name and reputation of the 54th Division is a great victory for the Somali people and a step forward showing that Somalia is moving forward in building a powerful national army capable of defending the country.
