Somaliland’s Aviation Minister Fuad Ahmed Noah says the new government has launched legal action to challenge an “illegal agreement” that gave Somalia control over Somaliland’s airspace.
The Minister said 12 years ago when Federal government of Somalia and Somaliland administration was talking about their deferences, Somalia added the agenda airspace deal to transfer airspace management from UN to Somalia.
He said Somaliland accepted and joined but never implemented.
“When we took power, we began legal action in the US and UK against this illegal deal,” the minister stated.
Also Minister announced despite Somalia’s airspace control, it doesn’t manage Somaliland airports.
