Sudan has held separate diplomatic talks with Somalia and Egypt on regional developments, bilateral cooperation and the situation in Sudan, according to Somalia’s state news agency SONNA and Egypt’s Ahram Online.
In Mogadishu, Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdisalam Ali received Sudanese Ambassador to Somalia Abdulrahman Khalil Ahmed Abakr Afandi at the ministry’s headquarters, SONNA reported.
The two sides discussed the latest regional developments and changes, as well as ways to strengthen and sustain bilateral cooperation between Somalia and Sudan. The meeting also reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close diplomatic relations and expanding cooperation on matters of mutual interest, according to SONNA.

Separately, Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohy El-Din Salem held a phone call with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, on Sunday, with discussions focusing on bilateral relations and developments in Sudan, Ahram Online reported, citing Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the call, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national institutions. He also stressed that any political process in Sudan should remain entirely Sudanese-owned and reflect the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
The Egyptian foreign minister said such a process should preserve Sudan’s state institutions and resources while helping achieve security and stability. He also underscored the historical and fraternal ties between the peoples of Egypt and Sudan and Cairo’s interest in expanding bilateral cooperation.
The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation and maintain close coordination and consultation, according to the Egyptian ministry.
The latest engagements come as Sudan continues to face a protracted conflict that has generated wider regional diplomatic and security concerns.
