Turkey’s ultra-deep drilling ship Çağrı Bey is set to start deep-sea drilling in Somalia this week.
Drilling is planned at a depth of 7,500 meters at a location identified using seismic data collected by the Oruç Reis vessel. This will mark Turkey’s first deep-sea drilling operation in international waters.
The drilling site is approximately 370 kilometers off the coast of Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.
The goal is to reach a depth of 7,500 meters. The vessel, which has a drilling capacity of up to 12,000 meters, stands out as one of the most advanced technologies in this field.
