Ahmet Hamdi Atalay, General Manager of Türksat, stated that the Türksat 7A satellite project is approaching the production phase and that the process of determining its technical specifications is almost complete.
Atalay said that Türksat is a stakeholder in the Spaceport Project that Türkiye has begun establishing in Somalia. He added, ‘Once we build our own launch system, we will be able to meet our needs whenever we want and take a share in this large market.’
As Türksat, we aim to become the first company to use our national launch system. We hope to send our Türksat 7A satellite, which is currently in the preparation stage, into space using our own launch system and to have our infrastructure ready before this process.’
The satellite is planned to enter service in 2029
