​Somalia’s National Intelligence and security Agency claimed that two airstrikes in Hirshabelle state eliminated members of the terrorists.
NISA stated that airstrikes carried out in the areas of Buqa-aqable and Masaajid Cali Guduud in the Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle regions killed more than 28 Al-Shabaab members.
​NISA reported that the airstrike in the Masaajid Cali Guduud area targeted a gathering of around 70 militants who were being prepared and distributed weapons and ammunition.
​According to a statement issued by NISA, 23 out of the 70 militants were killed, though it was not mentioned where the remaining members went.
​The airstrike in the Buqa-aqable area killed 5 Al-Shabaab members, including the group’s head of explosives in that area, identified as Abdirahman, but commonly known as Abdi Mudalib.
