44 Somalis in Indian jails to be freed soon

Ambassador Dr. Abdullahi Mohamed Odawaa, who has been on a working trip to the city of Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra in India in recent days, visited 44 Somali citizens in prison who were captured by the Indian Coast Guard in the Indian Ocean.

The Somali citizens, who had been waiting for trial for a long time, have benefited from diplomatic efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the FGS, succeeding in having their first court session held, which was attended by the Somali Ambassador to India, Ambassador Dr. Abdullahi Mohamed Odawaa.

The second part has been scheduled to be held later, and the ambassador expressed great optimism that these citizens will be freed from Indian jails.
