Sweden: 20 Somali Bus drivers on strike over racist messages

Share

Same Somali Bus drivers in Sweden announced halting their work over fake sickness but complaining racist messages from the far right party Campaigners.

Radio Sweden has reported that 20 Somali Bus drivers went on strike, claiming they were sick.

The media reported that these Somali drivers were not actually sick, but did so after election campaign posters for the far-right party “Sweden Democrats (Sverigedemokraterna, SD)” were placed on the Buses they were driving.

The message posted on the Buses targeted foreigners, specifically Somalis in Sweden, and read: “Do you miss Mogadishu? Money for your return is ready.”

The media also reported that the drivers returned to work after the racist messages were removed from the Buses.

This comes at a time when racism, xenophobia, and Islamophobia have been increasing recently in these Western countries.
