Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Ablakwa, has condemned what he describes as the demeaning treatment of Ghanaians abroad, stressing that the Black race is not inferior and Ghana will defend the dignity of its people.
His comments follow a December 7 incident in which several Ghanaian travellers heading to a cybersecurity conference were detained or deported at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport without a clear explanation.
Only one member of the group was allowed entry.
Speaking on a radio show, Ablakwa called the treatment unfair and unacceptable.
He urged all nations to show Ghanaians the same respect Ghana gives foreign visitors, emphasizing that the country will always stand up for its citizens’ dignity.
