The leader of the Houthi group in Yemen, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, has stated that they strongly oppose any Israeli presence on Somali soil, whether it be a military base or another official facility.
Speaking on the group’s TV channel, al-Houthi indicated that his group views the matter as a danger to regional security and stability, and they could take military actions if they encounter an Israeli presence within their reach.
The statement comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East and Horn of Africa regions, linked to strategic competition and shifts in international alliances following Israel’s recognition of Somaliland.
