The Federal government of Somalia and Turkish Government launched today the drilling of the first Oil and Gas exploration in Somalia.
Attended by the President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, PM Hamze Abdi Barre and other top dignitaries.
Türkiye Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said; “this first ultra-deepwater drilling at the Curad-1 well starting alongside Çağrı Bey represents one of the most tangible expressions of the trust-based partnership and shared development vision between Türkiye and Somalia.
These drilling operations, lasting approximately 288 days, aim to reach a depth of 7,500 meters, targeting the world’s second-deepest offshore well.”
Somalis eagerly welcomed the arrival of Cagri bey oil and gas drilling Ship.
It will take almost ten months to reach the results of the Curad one well drilling.
