Somalia’s Safeguards Agreement and Additional Protocol were co-signed by H.E. Abdisalam Ali Dhaay, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and H.E. Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
This agreement reinforces Somalia’s commitments under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and strengthens the peaceful use of nuclear applications for socio-economic development, particularly in energy, agriculture, and healthcare including cancer prevention and treatment.
H.E. Ambassador Khadra Duale , Somalia’s Permanent Representative, received the official copy of the signed Agreement in Geneva.
Somalia is among signatures of the the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
