The outgoing Somai president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud joined thousands of public who were celebrating the 66th National independence day on July 1st in Mogadishu streets last night.
Many of those were celebrating didn’t expect that president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud could celebrate with them together in Mogadishu streets.
This is significant step towards improving security in Mogadishu the capital city of Somalia where faced decades of hardships.
1st July is Somalia’s independence day, a day Southern regions got independence from Italian colony and unified the two regions North and South to form Somali Republic in 1960.
Northwestern regions announced self-determination but after 35 years of they still in search of recognition.
