Uganda’s Army Chief Geneva Muhoozi recently announced that Türkiye is profiting from Somalia through peace sacrificed by Ugandan Army.
Mr Muhoozi also announced on 18 Sept that Turkish Embassy un Kampala should be closed and Turkish investments should be nationalized by the Government of Uganda.

one tweet from Turkish Journalist and political writer Umut Cagri Sari dismantled the Ugandans narrative saying UPDF mission in Somalia isn’t charity but paid mission by International Donors.
African Union mission in Somalia, which includes UPDF, has been funded for years by the EU, UN, and other donors. Troop allowances are also paid from these funds. UPDF’s presence in Somalia is a paid mission, not charity.
On the other hand, Türkiye is not a free rider when it comes to security.
It operates its largest overseas military base in Mogadishu and has trained thousands of Somali soldiers.
This is the only real way foreign troops can leave the country: by building a Somali army capable of protecting Somalia said Umut Cagri.
