Ethiopia accused TPLF behind Moyale conflict

Share

Former Ethiopia’s ambassador to Somalia Suleiman Defedo has accused TPLF and other neighboring countries behind the fighting in Moyale town Somali state where Oromo militias attack the Somali state HQ.

Defedo said:

The conflict that occurred in Moyale town is not a conflict between Oromo and Geri or between Oromia and Somali regions.

The instigators of the conflict are working tirelessly to spread the conflict and make it seem like a conflict between peoples or regions.

The conflict is being deliberately pitted against neighboring Borena and Geri villagers, who live together, and to make it seem like a conflict of nations or regions, so that it can be echoed in some loose neighboring countries’ social media, and to make it seem like the person who started the conflict is fighting for the rights and interests of the nation, Ethiopians are calling on not only Somali tribes but also other Somali tribes living in neighboring countries to join the conflict.

There is credible information that three TPLF spies, whose identities have not been revealed for a while, entered Moyale a few days before the conflict broke out and were there on the day the conflict broke out. The aim of this conflict is undoubtedly to spread the conflict that the TPLF has started in the northern part of our country to the southern part of our country and, if successful, to cause a conflict between the Oromia and Somali regions, and to divert the government’s attention from the north to the south.

Therefore, in order to put an end to this hidden conspiracy, the governments of the Oromia and Somali regions, as well as the Oromo and Somali tribal leaders, should calm and coordinate the people and thwart the mission of these enemy agents.

In particular, the leaders of the Geri tribes should play a major role in exposing the individuals who started the conflict and bringing them to justice, so that this conflict does not spread and further lives and property are lost.
