The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Abdifatah Abdulkadir Farah, together with the EU Ambassador to Somalia, Amb. Francesca Di Mauro, jointly closed an important training programme focused on strengthening and empowering Somalia’s defence and security institutions.
The training was organised by EUTM and EUCAP as part of their continued support to defence sector reform and capacity-building.
The session was attended by officials from the federal and state levels, as well as senior officers from the security forces.
Discussions centred on countering terrorism threats and enhancing community security, with particular emphasis on improving coordination and institutional resilience across the national defence and security architecture.
