The government of China has donated one million dollars to help with the ongoing drought crisis in Somalia, according to the director of the Sodma agency.
Mohamud Moallim stated that China also funded the construction of roads, emergency relief centers in the regional states, and medical supply warehouses.
Standing alongside the Chinese ambassador to Somalia, he said that China has trained 20 members of the agency to better respond to the country’s drought situation.
He thanked the Chinese government for its support, which is not limited to drought relief but also includes assistance in education, healthcare, and rebuilding Somalia’s governance.
