A high-level delegation from the Chinese government is arriving in Mogadishu on Friday.
The delegation is led by China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and he will meet with leaders of Somalia’s Federal Government.
This is the first international delegation to arrive in Mogadishu since the Somaliland recognition crisis erupted.
President Hassan Sheikh’s recent media interviews hinted that Somalia’s leader is signaling a strengthening of ties with China.
