Somalia’s defence Minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi alongside Minister of environment Bashir Goobbe voted in Galkayo city in Galmudug state.
Leader, parliamentary and council members election is underway today in Galmudug after weeks of campaigns.
Speaking at the one of the voting centres Ahmed Moallim Fiqi said “today I am not speaking or representating the Ministry of Defence, but I am representating myself as a Citizen from Galkayo City.”.
Front runner Liban Ahmed Hassan is expected to win the new leadership of the Galmudug state.
Elections Commission said more than 250k voters registered this election.
It’s first one person one vote election in Galmudug since its establishment.
