Somali Ambassador Sheikhnur Mohamed Hassan paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof ABM Obaidul Islam at the latter’s office on Monday.
During the meeting, they exchanged views regarding various issues, including the admission of Somali students at Dhaka University and the provision of scholarships for them.
Hassan sought cooperation from the university authorities to secure these scholarships. He also praised the government and people of Bangladesh for providing support and cooperation to Somalia in various fields, including peacekeeping and construction.
Prof ABM Obaidul Islam assured the ambassador that the university would take all possible measures to provide scholarships to Somali students.
He thanked the Somali envoy for his visit to Dhaka University and for having a keen interest in its academic and research activities.
