Turkey President Erdoğan announced that he will visit Ethiopia next week, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan arrived in Addis Ababa to meet with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to discuss regional developments and efforts to strengthen peace and stability.
The visit came one day after Reuters reported that Ethiopia had hosted a covert base used by Sudan’s RSF during the ongoing war with Sudan’s army.
The back-to-back visits by senior officials from Saudi Arabia and Türkiye may signal increasing regional engagement and diplomatic activity regarding the war in Sudan and the broader security dynamics in East Africa.
Ethiopia is the only Country supporting UAE’s proxy wars in Africa as Addis Ababa hosts RFS base.
Both Saudi Arabia and Turkey are pressuring Ethiopian PM Abiye Ahmed Ali to decline and reject UAE’s dirty hands.
